Slick Ballinger
I'm going to cross over with some photos from whereitallbegan.blogspot.com --my little blues gallery.
Slick Ballinger is 21 years old and sounds like he was a Delta bluesman from way back. Take a listen to him when you can. He's definitely got "Mississippi Soul."

Tis the Season
The 2006 Hurricane does not officially start until June 1. But it's not too early: Please, Lord, spare the people of Mississippi and south Louisiana this year.

"Now Hurricane Katrina ("the second coming of Camille") threatens to do the same (As Hurricane Camille did in 1969). Except now, there is a lot more commercial build-up along the Coast, including casinos, which are closing ahead of the storm. Damn, it must be bad when casinos close. They're taking out the money and the slot machines. Jim Cantore on the Weather Channel Sunday morning said Treasure Bay Casino in Biloxi (the one built like a pirate ship) will probably be destroyed."
Prophetic? Hardly. I, unlike so many of our supposedly trusted officials, listened and knew what was going to happen. What I knew would happen did occur. Unfortunately, it went way beyond that.
Yes, Treasure Bay Casino was destroyed, along with most other buildings along Highway 90 in Biloxi, Gulfport, Waveland, Pass Christian, etc. A lot of those that weren't destroyed can't be saved.
Katrina's winds in Ellisville, MS, my hometown, were estimated at 114 mph. A neighbor's tree crashed destroyed the back yard fence when it crashed through. The new fence is nearly completed. I still have to have a cyclone fence on the north side of the back yard repaired. No damage, however, to the house or shop. There has been a lot of cleanup in town, but more to go. Most fallen trees and their debris are now gone. About the only things remaining are the horrible memories these people went through, and those damn "blue roofs." No telling how far behind roofers are.

Direcway?
Does anybody have experience with Direcway--internet through a satellite dish? Or heard of experiences? I'm considering it.

Andrew's Pix
We went across the road Sunday afternoon, both took cameras and shot flower pix. Andrew came up with some real good pictures. I told him he had a "noobie" perspective which gave him some damn good pictures.
Buck
I thought maybe that's an eight-point I've had a pic of before; but it's big enough it could be the 10-point.
