Bad Friday

We (my son and I) spent Wednesday-Saturday at our second home in Ellisville, MS during spring break. Friday, Andrew mowed for about an hour, came in for a break and I took over. MISTAKE.
I thought for sure I could get the riding mower between the dead pecan tree and the water hydrant. But, of course, I couldn’t.
After running over the hydrant and seeing water flowing up from the ground and down the driveway, I turned the mower off and put it in neutral. I couldn’t back over the hydrant, so I tried to lift the front of the mower to move it around a little, and push it back. Naturally, I burned my finger very bad, a huge blister the length of my finger coming up almost instantly.
I ran it under cold water, and immediately called the city water dept., forgetting it was Good Friday. Somebody finally came about 30 minutes later.
In the meantime, I drove to the local pharmacy, where they sold me some silver-something, called a miracle for bad burns, used at emergency. It almost instantly ceased the pain and burning, and the blister started going down. It’s almost gone now. Great stuff.
The water dept. employee came to the house, and asked if I even wanted a hydrant there anymore. I said no, and in about 30 minutes, everything was repaired
Helluvan afternoon.
